From 2023 – 2025 he was Science Director and Deputy Director of CSIRO’s Data61 in Sydney Australia.
In this role I led the establishment of the Quantum Next Generation Graduates program, Science Directorate team transformation and research portfolio redesign with Science Discovery, Data61-University Engagement, Science Excellence and International Engagement. Other notable activities included, RAIR: Responsible AI Research Centre funded by the South Australian Government, University of Adelaide and CSIRO, Expansion of AI, Emerging Tech, Quantum Next Generation Graduates program across Australia to now total 550 funded places across Australia. Reshaping of CSIRO’s Science Council with a new focus on building a risk weighted research portfolio
Development of improved collective leadership and transparency in our leadership team, indigenous engagement committee, commercialisation committee, AI for missions’ program, CINTEL: Collaborative Intelligence Future Science Platform (FSP), Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience (CIPR) Mission and our Boeing Steering Committee and Boeing Advanced Production System (APS) steering committee.
