This was the informal reading list for CS5041 – User Centered Interaction Design – in 2012 and 2013. This module is no longer delivered in the same manner so this page is kept for reference only.
Desktop and mobile computing are evolving as advanced interactive technologies change our view of applications, services, gaming and computing. The focus in this module on advanced interactive technologies is on interaction and specifically on interaction between one or more humans and one or more computational machines, beyond the desktop. This module studies both the mechanism side and the human side with a focus on a class of devices beyond the desktop. This module focuses on the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive technologies and computing systems for human use with the study of major phenomena surrounding them.

For students who wish to explore high fidelity prototypes I suggest using systems including:
- Processing – with this you can hence explore Augmented Reality and Processing
For students who wish to explore low fidelity prototypes I suggest using systems including:
- https://www.mybalsamiq.com/ – students will be assigned an account here during week 1
- Examples of low fidelity prototypes vs full websites can be seen here http://www.wireframeshowcase.com/
